Dr. Sunil M. Thadani
Dr. Sunil M. Thadani was born and raised in Maryland. He completed his undergraduate degree, earning both a Bachelor of Science and Bachelor of Arts from The George Washington University in Washington, DC. After finishing his undergraduate degrees he went on to Yale University where he earned his Master’s degree in Epidemiology. He then went on to earn his medical degree, MD, from The George Washington University after which he completed his specialty training in Ophthalmology at Georgetown University. He also served as the Chief Resident for his program in his final year of residency. He then went on to complete a subspecialty fellowship in Cornea and Refractive Surgery at the New England Eye Center and Ophthalmic Consultants of Boston.
After his training, Dr. Thadani spent time in Madras, India providing surgical eye care for rural communities with limited access to healthcare. He has authored articles in peer reviewed journals, written book chapters on cataract surgical techniques, and presented research on corneal topics at national meetings. He continues to dedicate his time to education with involvement in resident teaching at Georgetown University.
Dr. Thadani is currently certified by Visx/AMO for laser refractive surgery procedures and is currently performing them at Physicians Surgery Center. He is a member of the American Academy of Ophthalmology and the American Society for Cataract and Refractive Surgery. His mission is to employ the latest technological advances in both clinical and surgical techniques while maintaining a compassionate approach to patient care.
Outside of the office he enjoys spending time with his wife and family, skiing, playing golf and on hobbies including classic car restoration and salt water fish collection.
